Med sin New York-doftande garagerock med stark popsensibilitet har The Plastic Pals sedan starten 2005 gjort hundratals spelningar och släppt flera kritikerrosade plattor. Plattor som tagit bandet till spelningar i bland annat London, Liverpool och New York och som förband till The Dream Syndicate, Steve Wynn, The New Christs, Fleshtones och Green on Red-katterna Chris Cacavas, Dan Stuart och Chuck Prophet.

Under 2025 firar The Plastic Pals 20-årsjubileum med nytt album med titeln ”Keep it Burning”, som släpps i höst. Första singeln ”The Blue Train” – en hyllning till Robbie Robertson och som skrevs morgonen efter hans bortgång 9 augusti 2023 – släpps 9 augusti i år.

Jonathan Segel (Camper Van Beethoven and Øresund Space Collective) and Mattias Olsson (Øresund Space Collective)

Expect a mixture of progressive songwriting and roots-based music.

Jonathan Segel is a talented musician and composer known for his multi-instrumental work with Camper Van Beethoven, Sparklehorse, Hieronymous Firebrain, Eugene Chadbourne, Øresund Space Collective and many others, as well as his solo work in many genres, including singer-songwriter, improviser, and electronic composer. 

Mattias Olsson is a Swedish drummer / percussionist / musician with a love of all things analogue. Runs his own record label Roth Händle Recordings and the recording studio Roth Händle Studios in the Stockholm area. He has played in multiple bands including Øresund Space Collective, Änglagård, Pineforest Crunch and White Willow.

His catawampus songwriting explores roots & traditional music filtered through a contemporary dissonant transmitter: “Americana at its best” (Village Records). He has played nearly all the stages, theatres, festivals, and cook-outs in Wyoming and the Rocky Mtns, and even ventured out to favorite big cities like Stockholm and Duluth.
